General Decomposition Model-- for all parks.

A note about Park Divisions: they don't have a place in the functional analysis final product: this is a functional decomposition, not an organizational one. If you start decomposing your park by division (as I have), make sure to allow some functions' expenses to cross divisional boundaries. Don't let your park's organizational structure confuse the real issue: functions. I've tried to show how I've done Denali's decomposition, from division to function to "macro function," using the "DENA Function Chart" spreadsheet in this workbook -- Nick Hardigg

Macro-Functions Functions Sub-functions
...Are uniform throughout the Initiatives parks: we will all group our functional break- down into the four macro - functions. It's no big deal -- just lump your functions into their proper categories and your done. ...Are uniform throughout theInitiative's parks. Can your park fit into these constraints ? If not, let's discuss it. Soon! When reviewing this list, remember that some functions may have expenses in multiple divisions ... are chosen by YOU! Fit this model to your parks needs. Want to declare a standard? Compare with a benchmark? If so, then break out the "sub-function" here. Use only the level of detail that your park desires: no need for 88 subfunctions! (Parenthetic entries are merely descriptions, not sub-functions.)

*Could be a sub-function of most resource functions. It should be quantified, and targeted as evidence of inefficiency; we want resource funding in the base, requiring less hoop-jumping expense

** "Compliance" refers to activities to ensure compliance with external mandates
